Why do I need an editor if I have Grammerly, AI, etc.?
There is no substitute to a professional editing your writing. If you are writing to an audience (e.g., an application essay, a business newsletter, etc.), you must understand that those are humans, not robots. The way sentences are worded and structured, as well as style and tone, go far beyond grammatical mistakes, and that type of editing cannot be replicated by technology.
What if I can’t afford it?
We understand that $45/hour can seem expensive; however, if you’re worried about cost but want editing, please consider getting an estimate for the writing project first. The quality of work, willingness to communicate, and speed at which DES can edit may shock you. We want to be able to help!
